Dear Friend:

My name is Kristen, I’m 29 years old and I want to tell you something personal about myself. I know just how hard it is to muster the motivation to do your job, your daily chores or to just enjoy your life when you’re out of shape and not feeling very healthy or confident about your body. I know because that’s exactly what happened to me.

I am now the owner of I Luv My Body Fitness Boot Camp located in San Francisco, CA.

The truth is that 8 years ago…

I was in bad shape physically and emotionally. I was in a job I hated and rarely ever heard a positive word from the people I worked for. Every morning I began to dread getting out of bed and going to work.

Soon my motivation at work started to plummet and so did my motivation to exercise.

After a few months of sitting behind a desk and not feeling energetic enough to do anything, my body started changing. I began gaining weight.

I can’t tell you how much of a hit my self -esteem took every time I walked by a mirror. Suddenly, my clothes were too tight and my muscles were getting soft and flabby. And then it happened. I mustered up the courage to step on the scale and realized…

In a few short months I’d gained 17 lbs…

Every bit of those 17 lbs. showed on my inner thighs, my stomach, my arms and my behind. What’s worse was I had a hard time finding clothes to fit my larger body. Every time I went out with my friends I’d try on outfit after outfit, only to abandon them because they were either too tight or they showed a muffin top over my jeans.

I was jealous of my friends who were wearing fun and flirty styles because they were thin and healthy and I wasn’t.

On July 13th, 2002 I finally got my wake up call.

I walked into the salsa dance class that I used to attend, but had been avoiding for months. I can’t even tell you how embarrassed I was because I’d let myself gain all that weight.

A very well meaning instructor pulled me aside and gently told me she didn’t think I’d feel comfortable performing in the costumes she was ordering for our show unless I lost some weight. I was mortified!

It was then I made a decision that literally changed my entire life…

I quit my job and started exercising with a trainer on a regular basis. In that time I was exposed to weight loss and fitness experts who helped coach me in the right way to exercise so I didn’t feel alone! I got my diet on track, eating healthy, clean foods, controlling my portions and I finally started seeing some results!

I was feeling more energized and confident again! And you know what I found? Having someone there to motivate me and hold me accountable made it so much easier to get the results I needed. My trainers also made me feel good about myself, which was something that I hadn’t felt in a long time.

I began reading everything I could get my hands on about fitness training, circuit training, boot camp training techniques, full body workouts and proper nutrition. I performed workouts that combined high intensity strength training and cardio bursts that leaned and toned my entire body. Above all, I became healthier and more toned than I’d ever been in my life.

I turned my passion for fitness and health into a career I loved.

I knew other people struggled with weight, stress and unhealthy habits that left them with no energy. I knew I could help, so I got my personal training certification and opened a boot camp company in San Francisco called I LUV My Body Fitness. My company uses the same two-step approach I used to get in shape. – Improving nutrition and performing high intensity strength training and cardio workouts!

I LUV My Body Fitness has been able to help men and women of all ages become healthier, more toned and more energetic than they’ve been in years!
